北아일랜드 紛爭 ( 아일랜드語 : Na Triobloidi 너 트루블로디 , 英語 : The Troubles 더 트러블스 [ * ] )은 아일랜드 共和國 이 英國 聯合王國 에서 獨立할 當時 얼스터 의 一部 地方은 英國에 濫飮으로써 비롯된 一連의 民族主義 紛爭을 말한다. [11] [12] [13] [14] 紛爭이 일어난 舞臺는 北아일랜드 뿐만 아니라 아일랜드 共和國 , 英國 , 유럽 大陸 本土 에까지 이르렀다. 北아일랜드 問題는 1960年代 後半에 始作되어 1998年 벨파스트 協定 으로 마무리되었으나, [4] [15] [16] [17] [18] 協定에 이르기까지의 過程은 散發的 暴力으로 點綴되었다. 北아일랜드 紛爭은 本質的으로 政治的 問題로서, 宗敎 紛爭이라 할 수는 없으나, [11] [28] 民族的, 宗敎的 次元에서도 紛爭이 展開된 것도 事實이다. 問題의 核心은 北아일랜드의 立憲的 地位 에 있다. 聯合主義子 또는 王黨派 들은 거의 大部分 改新敎人 으로서, 北아일랜드가 英國 聯合王國 內部에 繼續 "聯合"되어 있기를 願한다. 民族主義者 또는 공화파 들은 거의 大部分 가톨릭 敎人 으로서 北아일랜드가 聯合을 脫退하여 統一 아일랜드 를 構成하기를 願한다.

또다른 核心 問題는 詳述한 두 共同體 사이의 關係이다. 北아일랜드 政府와 警察 組織은 改新敎徒/聯合主義自家 掌握하고 있기에 少數派인 가톨릭 교도/ 民族主義者 에 對한 差別 이 發生하지 않을 수 없었고, 이 差別에 反對한 民權運動 을 둘러싸고 紛爭이 함께 始作되었다. [29] [30]
