Kon-Boot 는 마이크로소프트 윈도우 및 애플 macOS ^[1] 로그인 祕密番號를 引證迂廻할 수 있는 소프트웨어 道具이다. Windows 10 온라인(live), Windows 그리고 macOS 祕密番號를 同時에 支援하는 첫 番째 툴이기도 하다. ^[2]

Kon-Boot은 本來祕密番號를 자주 잊는 使用者들을 위한 프로토타입 保安 프리웨어로서 製作되었다. 프로그램의 메인 컨셉은, 使用者가 正確한 祕密番號를 모르는 狀態에서도 로그인을 支援하거나 또는 持續的으로 祕密番號를 變更하지 않아도 되게 하는 目的이었다.

첫 Kon-Boot릴리즈는 2008年, DailyDave 메일링 리스트였다. ^[3] 버전 1.0(프리웨어)는 Linux 基盤運營體制使用者에 로그인 및 認證프로세스 迂廻(暗號를 몰라도 시스템에 액세스하도록)를 支援하였다.

프로그램 Kon-Boot는 BIOS 메모리에 自身을 隱蔽한다. Kon-Boot는 運營體制가 稼動되는 동안 使用者의 認證 데이터 코드를 一時的으로 變更하는 原理로 作動된다. ^[9]

CHNTPW ^[10]等의 暗號再設定툴과는 對照的으로, Kon-Boot는 시스템 파일 및 SAM hive를 修正하지 않으며 黨 프로그램으로 發生한 修訂事項은 一時的인 것으로 시스템 再부팅 時 모두 사라지게 된다.
