리처드 마이어 (Richard Meier, 1934年 10月 12日 ~ )는 美國의 抽象 美術家 , 建築家 이다. 幾何學的 디자인을 통해 흰色을 主로 使用한 것으로 잘 알려져 있다. [1] 1984年 프리츠커賞 을 받았으며 바르셀로나 현대미술관 , 로스앤젤레스 의 게티 센터 , 산호세 視聽 을 包含한 여러 象徵的 建物들을 設計하였다.

마이어는 유대系 美國人 家庭에서 태어났으며, [2] [3] [4] 뉴저지州 뉴어크 의 葡萄酒와 술 販賣商이었던 제롬 마이어(Jerome Meier)과 카롤린의 3名의 아들 가운데 나이가 가장 많다. [5] [6] 메이플우드 近處에서 成長했으며, [7] 그곳에서 컬럼비아 高等學校 를 다녔다. 1957年 코넬 大學校 에서 建築學社를 받았다.

卒業 後 마이어는 이스라엘 , 그리스 , 獨逸 , 프랑스 , 덴마크 , 핀란드 , 이탈리아 等地를 旅行하며 建築家들과 人脈을 쌓았다. [5]

마이어는 建築家, 理論價, 뉴욕 파이브 의 펠로 멤버인 피터 아이젠먼 의 둘째 四寸이기도 하다.

2018年 3月 13日 같이 일했던 4名의 女性을 包含한 5名의 女性에 對한 性暴力( 5 Women Accuse the Architect Richard Meier of Sexual Harassment )이 暴露되어 2018年 2月 22日부터 열린 리차드 마이어 展示가 中斷되었다.( Sotheby’s Closes Richard Meier Show After Harassment Charges )

이에 리차드 마이어는 謝過와 함께 6個月間 會社를 떠나 있을 것을 發表했으나 2018年 4月 6日 追加的으로 그의 會社 職員이었던 4名의 女性에 對한 性暴力이 暴露되어( Women Say Richard Meier’s Conduct Was Widely Known Yet Went Unchecked ) 2018年 10月 9日 會社는 그의 隱退를 發表했다.

2021年 리차드 마이어의 隱退와 함께 社名을 Richard Meier & Partners Architects 에서 Meier Partners 로 變更했다. ( Richard Meier retires and studio rebrands as Meier Partners three years after sexual harassment allegations )
