正體性 政治 는 傳統的인 다양한 要素에 基盤한 政黨 政治나 드넓은 普遍 政治에 屬하지 않고 性別 , 젠더 , 宗敎, 障礙, 民族, 人種, 性的志向, 文化 等 共有되는 集團 正體性을 基盤으로 排他的인 政治 同盟을 追求하는 政治 運動이자 思想을 의미한다. [1] [2] 正體性 政治라는 用語는 1960年 或은 70年代 以後로 여러 形態로 使用되어 왔지만, 서로 다른 集團에 依하여 根本的으로 다른 意味로 使用되어왔다. [3] [4] 이 用語는 女性運動, 美國의 民權運動 , LGBT 運動, 내셔널리즘 運動 脫植民 運動 等의 出現으로 認知度를 얻게 되었다. [5]

政治 談論에서 正體性 政治라는 用語는 적어도 1970年代부터 使用되기 始作했다. [6] 正體性 政治는 特定 範疇化의 形態로서 특정한 社會集團이 抑壓받고 있다는 主張과 密接하게 關聯되었다. 따라서 그 集團에 屬한 個人은 그들의 正體性으로 인하여 文化 帝國主義, 暴力, 勞動搾取, 疏外와 無力함에 더욱 脆弱하다는 것이다. [7] 따라서 이런 社會的 差異의 境界는 좀더 平等한 社會로 나아가기 위한 權限附與나 方道로 看做될 수 있다는 것이다. [8]

어떤 集團은(대표적으로 黑表當) 마르크스주의 社會階級 分析과 階級意識을 正體性 政治와 結合하기도 했다. MOVE라는 集團은 黑人 民族主義와 婀娜코 原始主義(모든 文明과 技術을 拒否하는 가장 極端的인 形態의 綠色政治)를 結合하기도 했다. [9] [10] 正體性 政治는 左翼일 수도 右翼일 수도 있다. 後者의 境遇 얼스터 忠誠注意 , 이슬람主義 , 基督敎 正體性 運動 같은 것들이 있다.

1980年代를 거쳐 正體性 政治는 社會運動으로서 두드러지기 始作했고, 새로운 社會 運動의 물결로 看做되었다. [11]

2010年代 中盤以後 正體性 政治는 極端化되어가는 傾向을 보이기 始作했는데, 美國의 白人 正體性 政治 運動이 代表的이다. 이 現象은 人口 統計學的 多樣性의 增加와 白人이 美國 社會에서 少數民族이 될거라는 被害妄想的 陰謀論에 起因하는데, 이는 白人 虐殺(White genocide)이라고 불린다. [12] 이런 社會的 雰圍氣는 많은 이들이 多樣性과 關聯이 없는 保守的인 理由와 連繫되게 만들었다. [13]
