《 Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 》은 英國 의 헤비 메탈 밴드 아이언 메이든 이 1988年 4月 11日 유럽에서 EMI 레이블이 發表한 일곱 番째 스튜디오 音盤이며, 姊妹 레이블인 北美 캐피틀 이 發賣한 音盤이다. 2002年 美國 의 생츄어리 / 컬럼비아 레코드 에 依해 다시 發賣되었다. 이 音盤은 2000年 《 Brave New World 》까지 기타리스트 아드리안 스미스 가 參與한 밴드의 마지막 스튜디오 音盤이다.

아이언 메이든이 키보드를 參與한 것은 이番이 처음이다. 《 The Number of the Beast 》와 같이, 後에 《 Fear of the Dark 》, 《 The Final Frontier 》, 《 The Book of Souls 》와 같이, 英國 音盤 차트 에서 1位로 데뷔했다. 이 音盤에는 타이틀曲 〈Seventh Son of a Seventh Son〉의 길이와 複雜한 構造에서 볼 수 있는 많은 프로그레시브 록 要素와 콘셉트 音盤 이라는 事實에서 볼 수 있다.

이 音盤을 弘報하기 위해, 이 밴드는 音盤 發賣에 앞서 獨逸 아텐도른 의 캐슬 슈넬렌버그에서 텔레비전, 라디오, 言論 인터뷰를 한 後 [8] , 뉴욕 엠파이어, 쾰른, 라무르에서 "샬롯과 할롯(Charlotte and the Harlots)"이라는 이름으로 少數의 "祕密" 클럽 쇼를 열었다. [9] 5月에, 이 그룹은 7個月에 걸쳐 全世界 200萬 名 以上의 사람들에게 公演을 하는 支援 투어를 始作했다.
