토마스 抛시스 토렌스 (Thomas  Forsyth Torrance, 1913年 8月 30日~2007年 12月 2日)는 스코틀랜드 의 改新敎 神學者였다.

T. F. 토렌스라고 一般的으로 言及한다. 그는 有名한 토마스 토렌스 의 아들로 27年 동안 에딘버그 뉴 컬러지와 에딘버그 大學 에서 基督敎 敎理史를 講義하였다. 敎會의 神學 理解에 끼친 토렌스의 貢獻은 칼 바르트 를 英語圈 世界에 紹介했고, 무엇보다도 招待 敎父들의 硏究의 重要性을 西歐敎會 에 알린 것이다. 그의 重要한 神學的 寄與는 다른 神學者들은 勿論 칼빈 의 17世紀 繼承者들조차 깨 닫지 못한 칼빈의 神學的 天才性을 認識하고 理解했다는 것이다. 그러나 무엇보다 토렌스의 가장 重要한 業績은 바로 科學分野에 있다. 人文科學 과 神學 에 精通한 토렌스는 科學的 論理와 現代 物理學 分野에 15年以上을 硏究하면서 神學과 科學의 統合的 思考에 삶을 바쳤다. [1] 칼빈神學뿐만 아니라 칼빈의 解析學 에서도 重要한 貢獻을 하였다. 토마스 토렌스 家門 의 長男이며 제임스 土랜스의 兄이다. 그의 아들은 프린스턴 神學校의 校長이었던 이안 토렌스 이다

그는 웨스트민스터 信仰告白 에 對한 批判을 加한 代表的인 神學者이다. 그는 이 信仰告白이 救援의 順序 라는 中世神學的인 面을 導入하였기 때문에 존 칼빈 과 正反對의 길을 가게 되었가고 主張하였다. 또한 信仰告白이 聯邦神學( 言約神學 )을 導入하였기 때문에 매우 律法的이며, 憲法的인 性格을 갖게 되었다고 批判하였다. 그는 그리스도와의 聯合敎理가 信仰告白에 빠져 있는 것이 救援의 順序 를 導入한 結果라고 主張하였다. [2]
