헨리 찰스 부코스키 (Henry Charles Bukowski, 1920年 8月 16日 - 1994年 3月 9日 )는 美國 의 詩人, 作家이다. 1920年 獨逸 안더나흐 에서 태어났고, 어릴 적 美國으로 건너가 로스엔젤레스에서 平生을 살았다. 大學을 中退하고 스물네 살 때 雜誌에 첫 短篇을 發表하지만 꾸준히 創作을 하지 못하고 오랜 期間 下級 勞動者로 倉庫와 工場을 轉轉한다. 그러다 偶然히 就職한 郵遞局에서 郵便 分類와 配達 職員으로 12年間 일하며 詩를 쓴다. 以後 일을 그만둔 그는 當時의 經驗을 바탕으로 長篇 데뷔作 『郵遞局』(1971)을 펴낸다. 이 作品은 作家의 分身인 헨리 치나스키 가 처음 登場하는 小說로 부코스키만의 스타일을 선보이며 自傳的 小說의 始作點이 된다. 年代順으로 보면 치나스키가 少年이던 『햄 온 라이』(1982), 글쓰기를 抛棄하고 이 일 저 일을 轉轉하던 時期의 『팩토텀』(1975), 中年에 접어들어 일정한 職業을 가지게 된 『郵遞局』을 거쳐 50代가 되어 비로소 專業 作家로 이름을 알리게 된 『女子들』(1978)로 이어진다. 부코스키는 시나리오 作家로 活動한 經驗을 바탕으로 한 作品 『할리우드』(1989)를 包含해 平生 60卷이 넘는 小說과 詩集, 散文集을 펴냈으며, 마지막 長篇小說 『펄프』(1994)를 完成하고 얼마 지나지 않아 1994年 3月 白血病으로 波瀾萬丈한 삶을 마감한다. 그의 墓碑에는 <Don't Try>라는 文句가 새겨져 있다. 그의 電氣 映畫로서 부코스키 올드 뱅크 가 있다.
