三星電子가 글로벌 力量을 活用해 ‘2030 釜山世界博覽會(釜山엑스포)’ 誘致 活動에 積極 나서고 있다. 李在鎔 會長을 비롯한 三星 最高 經營陣들은 全 世界를 돌며 世界博覽會機構(BIE) 會員國 關係者들을 만나 誘致 活動을 支援하고 있다. 삼성전자는 ‘2030 釜山世界博覽會 誘致委員會’에 會員社로도 參與 中이다.
‘2030 釜山엑스포’ 誘致에 글로벌 力量 集結
李在鎔 會長은 지난해 9月 中南美를 訪問해 現地 事業을 點檢하는 한便 마누엘 로페스 오브라도르 멕시코 大統領과 라우렌티盧 코르티소 파나마 大統領을 잇달아 만나 2030年 世界博覽會가 釜山에서 열릴 수 있도록 支持를 要請했다.
앞서 같은 해 6月에도 李 會長은 네덜란드에서 마르크 뤼터 네덜란드 總理를 만나 2030年 世界博覽會 釜山 開催에 對한 支持를 付託하기도 했다. 當時 이 副會長은 “2030 釜山世界博覽會는 韓國과 네덜란드가 함께 先導하고 있는 次世代 半導體 技術을 全 世界에 알리는 좋은 機會가 될 것”이라고 말했다. 또 이 자리에서 李 會長은 釜山世界博覽會는 ‘더 나은 人類의 未來’를 위한 비전과 革新 技術을 提示하는 場이 될 것임을 說明하고, 釜山이 世界博覽會 開催를 위한 最適地임을 强調했다.
한종희 三星電子 디바이스經驗(DX)副文章(副會長)도 海外 出張 時 現地 事業을 點檢하는 한便 各國 政府 關係者들을 만나 釜山엑스포 支持를 當付하고 있다. 지난달 27日(現地 時間)에는 獨逸 베를린 政府廳舍에서 로베르트 下베크 獨逸 副總理 兼 經濟·氣候保護部 長官을 接見했다. 한 副會長은 이 자리에서 “釜山엑스포가 全 世界가 함께 成長할 수 있는 方案을 論議할 수 있는 플랫폼이 될 것”이라며 釜山에 힘을 실어 줄 것을 要請했다.
다른 經營陣들도 各國에서 삼성전자의 革新技術 事例와 社會貢獻 活動을 說明하는 한便 釜山엑스포 協力을 要請하고 있다. 노태문 모바일經驗(MX)社業部長(社長)은 베트남 總理, 파나마 令夫人 等을 接見했고, 박학규 經營支援室長(社長)은 東티모르, 라오스, 네팔, 캄보디아, 카자흐스탄 等에서 高位 關係者들과 面談을 가졌다.

三星電子는 2030 釜山世界博覽會 誘致委員會와 함께 英國 런던 피카딜리 廣場, 홍콩 엔터테인먼트 빌딩 等 全 世界 主要 랜드마크의 大型 發光다이오드(LED) 電光板을 통해 2030 釜山世界博覽會 弘報 映像을 선보이고 있다. 런던과 홍콩에 이어 最近엔 스페인 마드리드 까야오 廣場, 스웨덴 스톡홀름 스투레플란 廣場 等 主要 電光板에도 釜山엑스포 弘報 映像을 上映하기 始作했다.
弘報 映像은 釜山이 2030年 博覽會 開催에 적합한 都市라는 點을 抒情的이며 洗練된 場面과 내레이션으로 紹介하고 있다. 釜山世界博覽會 公式 홈페이지와 유튜브 채널에서도 確認할 수 있다. 이番 弘報 映像 送出을 통해 世界人들의 耳目을 집중시켜 釜山의 認知度가 높아지고 誘致 應援을 이끌어내는 좋은 契機가 될 수 있을 것으로 삼성전자는 期待하고 있다.
以外 獨逸 베를린에서 열린 유럽 最大 家電展示會 ‘IFA 2022’와 올해 스페인 바르셀로나에서 열린 ‘MWC 2023’ 等 글로벌 消費者 및 企業人들이 모이는 大規模 展示 行事에서도 다양한 形態의 屋外 廣告 및 映像을 선보이며 釜山엑스포 誘致를 積極 弘報했다.

Samsung Electronics is utilizing its global capabilities to actively participate in activities to help Busan win the bid for the World Expo 203 0. Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong and top executives are touring around the world to meet with the relevant officials of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) member countries to support South Korea’s hosting efforts. The company is also a member of the Bid Committee for World Expo 2030 Busan.
Focusing global capabilities to host
the World Expo 2030 Busan
During his visit to Latin America in September last year, Executive Chairman Lee inspected the company’s local businesses and also met with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and Panamanian President Laurentino Cortizo to call for their support for the World Expo 2030 Busan.
In June 2022, the executive chairman met with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Netherlands to ask for his support. “The World Expo 2030 Busan will be a great opportunity to promote the next-generation semiconductor technologies led by South Korea and the Netherlands to the world,” Lee said during his meeting with the prime minister. Samsung’s executive chairman also explained that the World Expo 2030 Busan would be a venue to propose a vision and innovative technologies for the better future of humanity and stressed that Busan is an optimal location to host the event.
Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee is also meeting government officials to ask for their support for the World Expo 2030 Busan during his overseas business trips to inspect the company’s local businesses. He met with German Economy Minister and Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck in Berlin on February 27 (local time). “The World Expo 2030 Busan will serve as a platform to discuss how the world can achieve joint growth,” Han said, calling for the German vice-chancellor’s support.
Other executives of Samsung Electronics are promoting the company’s innovative technologies and social contributions and asking for cooperation to host the expo in Busan. Samsung CEO and MX (Mobile eXperience) Division Chief Roh Tae-moon met with the Vietnamese Prime Minister and Panamanian First Lady, and Samsung Electronics’ Business Support Office Chief Park Hak-gyu had meetings with senior officials of East Timor, Laos, Nepal, Cambodia, and Kazakhstan.
Promoting the World Expo 2030 Busan
with billboards across the world
Along with the Bid Committee for the World Expo 2030 Busan, Samsung Electronics is displaying videos to promote the World Expo 2030 Busan on large LED billboards in major landmarks across the world, including Piccadilly Circus in London and Entertainment Building in Hong Kong. The company also recently began to showcase the PR videos on billboards in other key locations, including Plaza del Callao in Madrid and Stureplan square in Stockholm.
The PR videos, which can also be watched on the official website and YouTube channel of the World Expo 2030 Busan, explain how well-fitted Busan is for hosting the expo with lyrical and sophisticated narration. Samsung Electronics expects the videos to garner attention from people around the world and raise awareness of Busan to encourage support for hosting the expo in the city.
Samsung Electronics also actively promoted the World Expo 2030 Busan with billboards and videos in many forms at large-scale exhibitions attended by global consumers and businesspeople, including IFA 2022, Europe’s biggest home appliance exhibition held in Berlin, and MWC 2023 in Barcelona.
