Sabah IV Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah GCB (Hon) ( Arabic : ????? ???? ?????? ?????? ?????? ; 16 June 1929 ? 29 September 2020) [1] was the 5th Emir of Kuwait and the Commander of the Military of Kuwait . He was sworn in on 29 January 2006 after confirmation by the National Assembly of Kuwait . [2]

In July 2020, Al-Sabah was hospitalized at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and had surgery . [3] [4] He died on 29 September 2020, aged 91. [5] [4]
