English: Flag of Mauritania, adopted in 2017. The National Assembly added red stripes to the top and bottom edges to represent “the blood shed by the martyrs of independence”.

Espanol: La Asamblea Nacional de Mauritania aprobo cambiar el diseno de la bandera nacional, anadiendo dos franjas rojas a lo largo de los bordes superior e inferior del pano, con el fin de representar la sangre derramada por los martires de la independencia.

Francais : Drapeau de la Mauritanie, adopte en 2017. L’Assemblee nationale de Mauritanie a ajoute deux bandes rouges le long des bords superieur et inferieur afin de representer ≪ le sang verse par les martyrs de l’independance ≫.
