[

,
[

]
. ≫

Science & Entertainment Exchange
(en)
en 2008, une branche de la
National Academy of Sciences
Hollywood
avec des scientifiques
[

]
. Un an plus tard, lors d'un repas a New York avec Tyson, MacFarlane est mis au courant d'une nouvelle serie
Cosmos
Kevin Reilly
(en)
, et appuie fortement le projet
[

]
.
[

]
.
Disney+
[

.
Dans une entrevue donnee a
Point of Inquiry
[
trad 2
]
≫
[
trad 3
]
,
[
13
]
. ≫
Dans une entrevue donnee a
Skepticality
[
trad 4
]
,
[
14
]
. ≫
Dans une autre entrevue, accordee a
Big Picture Science
[
trad 5
]
,
[
15
]
. ≫
[
trad 6
]
. ≫
[
trad 7
]
,
[
15
]
. ≫
The Big Bang Theory
et
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
, ainsi que de films tels
Gravity
, montre que
≪ la science est devenue grand public
[
trad 8
]
≫
et que le nouveau
Cosmos
≪ se retrouvera en terrain tres fertile
[
trad 9
]
,
[
16
]
. ≫
Tyson discute egalement du rapport
amour-haine
Spaceship of the Imagination
≪ vehicules narratifs ≫
(
vehicles of storytelling
effets speciaux
au gout du jour
[
13
]
[
trad 10
]
≫
[
trad 11
]
,
[
17
]
. ≫

In order for it to qualify on our show it has to touch you. It still has to be rigorously good science--no cutting corners on that. But then, it also has to be that equal part skepticism and wonder both.

The task for the next generation of
Cosmos
is a little bit different because I don’t need to teach you textbook science. There’s a lot of textbook science in the original
Cosmos
, but that’s not what you remember most. What most people who remember the original series remember most is the effort to present science in a way that has meaning to you that can influence your conduct as a citizen of the nation and of the world--especially of the world.

But why, some say, the Moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? We choose to go to the Moon ! We choose to go to the Moon. We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.

It's okay not to know all the answers. It's better to admit our ignorance than to believe answers that might be wrong. Pretending to know everything closes the door to finding out what's really there.

≪
That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every superstar, every supreme leader, every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lived there... on a mote of dust suspended... in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast, cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction... of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner. How frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet... is a lonely speck in the great, envelopping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment, the Earth is where we make our stand.
It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.

We, who embody the local eyes and ears and thoughts and feelings of the cosmos, we've begun to learn the story of our origins - star stuff contemplating the evolution of matter, tracing that long path by which it arrived at consciousness. We and the other living things on this planet carry a legacy of cosmic evolution spanning billions of years. If we take that knowledge to hearth, if we come to know and love nature as it really is, then we will surely be remembered by our descendants as good, strong links in the chain of life. And our children will continue this sacred searching, seeing for us as we have seen for those who came before, discovering wonders yet undreamt of... in the cosmos.
