Minnan ( Z1221 ) & Minnan (Pe?h-?e-j?) ( Z1501 )

Related to the same natural language. -- Wolverene ( talk ) 08:01, 12 October 2023 (UTC) Reply

P.S. I am also not sure it is a good idea to distinguish between Southern Min language and Standard Chinese spoken in the Minnan region , it was hardly assumed by those who assigned the codes. -- Wolverene ( talk ) 08:06, 12 October 2023 (UTC) Reply
Ping @ Quiddity (WMF) : since you have been able to help with a similar request . -- Ameisenigel ( talk ) 15:44, 18 October 2023 (UTC) Reply
Thanks. I've added a note to phab:T348370 about this. Please postpone the deletion here, for now. Quiddity (WMF) ( talk ) 20:03, 18 October 2023 (UTC) Reply
The BCP 47 language tag zh-min-nan always mean the "Minnan language".
It NEVER means "Standard Chinese spoken in the Minnan region".
It's deprecated in favor of nan .

Hello, World! ( Z11488 )

No idea why we would need this string as a ZID. -- Ameisenigel ( talk ) 13:58, 12 May 2024 (UTC) Reply

See Special:Search/Z11488 .-- GZWDer ( talk ) 16:27, 12 May 2024 (UTC) Reply
That just redirects me to Z11488. -- Ameisenigel ( talk ) 19:25, 12 May 2024 (UTC) Reply
Try Special:Search//"Z11488" . It looks like deleting this object would break two test cases. GrounderUK ( talk ) 07:13, 13 May 2024 (UTC) Reply
Interesting, why does this not show up at [1] ? -- Ameisenigel ( talk ) 17:10, 13 May 2024 (UTC) Reply
I think that’s phab:T361701 . GrounderUK ( talk ) 04:59, 14 May 2024 (UTC) Reply
Shouldn't it be possible to have this tests without the ZID by using the string directly? -- Ameisenigel ( talk ) 18:25, 13 May 2024 (UTC) Reply
That should always be possible, yes. We don’t have many Z6 objects and these few should all provide a justification, in my opinion. I don’t have a view on what should be considered adequate justification, however. GrounderUK ( talk ) 05:35, 14 May 2024 (UTC) Reply
