  FAQs

Human resources are the essence of FAO. This is reflected in the fact that a large part of FAO's budget is spent on people working for FAO. In fact, FAO has over 4000 employees, almost evenly distributed between its decentralized offices and field projects in developing countries and headquarters in Rome.

FAO is looking for people who are willing and able to make a difference. If you are able to handle or, better, to promote change and have demonstrated competencies in relevant areas for FAO, we encourage you to apply to Professional vacancies . Besides the central administrative functions, such as human resources, finance and information technology, FAO is looking for experts in the field of agriculture, fisheries, forestry and related areas as they are listed on FAO's home page . Are you interested in challenge and progression?

We would like to particularly encourage qualified nationals from non-represented and under-represented Member countries to apply to our current work opportunities. Qualified women are also strongly encouraged to apply.

For further information and applications, please consult the Professional vacancies or browse the various categories to find where your qualifications intersect with the needs of FAO. Unsolicited applications will not be considered by the Organization. Follow this link to learn more about applications .

We wish you happy searching.
