Early years and education [ change | change source ]

Kim was an only child who grew up in Bongcheon-dong, Seoul . As a child, he experienced a traumatic incident when his mother was stabbed during a home robbery. [1] He was able to overcome this trauma through acting, thanks to an acting academy he attended during his third year of high school. [2] [3]
