Karl Otto Pohl (1 December 1929 - 9 December 2014) [1] was a German economist. He served as President of the Bundesbank and Chairman of its Central Bank Council from 1980 to 1991. [2] [3] He was born in Hanover , Lower Saxony .

Pohl died in Zurich , Switzerland , aged 85.
