John Wilden Hughes, Jr. (February 18, 1950 ? August 6, 2009) was an American filmmaker. He was born in Lansing, Michigan . He grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and Northbrook , a suburb of Chicago , Illinois . He died of a heart attack in Manhattan , New York City .
