Gino Severini
(7 April 1883 ? 26 February 1966), was an
Italian
painter
. He was a founding member of the
Futurist
movement.
As a young man, he was introduced to
Impressionism
. This is a type of painting that was popular in the late 1800s. In the early 1900s, he became interested in
Cubism
. In the 1920s, he started to paint more traditionally and painted a few
murals
in
Switzerland
. In the 1940s, he started painting more
abstractly
again. He died in 1966 in
Paris
.
