David P. Montgomery (June 26, 1946 ? May 8, 2019) was an American baseball executive. During his career, he held many roles at the Philadelphia Phillies . Montgomery and Bill Giles bought the Phillies for USD $30m in 1984. He was the chairman , minority-owner and president of the Major League Baseball (MLB) team. He was born in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania .

Montgomery died of cancer on May 8, 2019, at the age of 72. ^[1]
