The Gate Foundation is open to all kinds of innovative ideas, no matter how crazy they might seem. We not only welcome existing battle tested projects looking to migrate, but also novel ideas looking to hone themselves and come into light. We always believe that the decentralization, audit-free, and trustworthiness of blockchains greatly liberates developers' minds, allowing them to realize solutions that cannot be achieved in the traditional industries & workflows.

Based on the current development and needs of the crypto ecosystem, the foundation has summarized the current areas that we’d like projects to focus on:

• Payments: Bridging the gap between merchants & crypto holders; a vital step in mainstream crypto adoption.
• Predictions: Traditional market prediction models cannot effectively predict directions of crypto assets due to the existence of many barriers. A decentralized market prediction approach also reduces production costs and greatly improves accuracy. Such models can be applied to sports, natural phenomena. public opinion & more.
• Loans: Compared to traditional finance, blockchain uses the transparency of a decentralized platform to bring a simpler and more effective verification method. Thus, lending platforms no longer need to worry about credit risk.
• Assets Aggregation: Assets aggregation formed using cryptocurrency collaterals enrich the diversity of an ecosystem and also provide liquidity for the collateralized crypto assets.
• Cross-Chain Conversion: New public chains are constantly being created. The cross-chain functionality can enable the free flow of exchange between different assets no matter the chain.
• Stable-Coins: The current value of cryptocurrencies is extremely volatile. The existence of stable-currencies makes crypto assets easier to connect with the real world. There are three models of stable-coins: fiat collateralized, crypto-collateralized, and algorithmic.
• Oracles: Through direct communication with Gate.io exchange, Coinmarketcap or Coingecko, will provide a reliable and timely pricing source for the crypto ecosystem.
• Insurance: Like in the traditional financial world, insurance is a means to effectively manage risks. Thanks to the non-tamperable and transparent characteristics of the blockchain, they improve the accuracy of insurance actuary.
• Tools: aggregation websites, public chain dashboards, wallets and smart contract deployment tools, etc.

In addition, developers can also get inspiration from DAOs, NFTs, algorithmic stablecoins, Layer 2, auctions, asset management, trade/revenue aggregators, decentralized derivatives, games, lotteries, and anonymous transfers.

• In general, the Gate Grant supported projects should be open source, but exemption could be made case by case.
• The supported projects should have the potential to positively impact the Gate ecosystem.
• The Gate Foundation reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice, and the right to suspend or terminate, in our sole discretion, the grant support.

The Gate Foundation will evaluate the project from multiple dimensions and determine the amount of grants to be issued. The project will be scored mainly from the following six aspects, and a comprehensive weighted score will be obtained based on the weight.

1. Design: The simplicity/beautifulness of the product UI and UE.
2. Interactivity: The degree of interaction with other GateChain projects.
3. Innovation: The idea of the project and the degree of novelty.
4. Project Impact: The impact of the project on the entire ecosystem.
5. Team Background: Team experience, development strength and team structure.
6. Difficulty: Difficulty of development and time required for development.
7. Application Quality: The team has a clear understanding and explanation of the project in the application.
   Please note that the scoring rules are subjected to change at any time based on industry changes, and reserves the right without prior rule change notice.

We have a dedicated foundation audit team to review your application, provided you have confirmed your submission

1. Fork this repository.
2. In the newly created branch, create a copy of (applications-template.md). Make sure not to modify the template file directly.
3. Name the new file after your project: project_name.md.
4. Fill in the template with the details of your project. The more information you provide, the faster the review process will be. To understand what a good application looks like, please refer to the example .
5. After completion, create a Pull Request. The pull request should only contain a new file?the Markdown file you created from the template.
6. If you have submitted an application on the Grants page of other foundations, for the convenience of you and your team, you can transfer the historical submission page to the GitHub of the GateChain Grants page
