William Steig ( New York , 1907ko azaroaren 14a - Boston , 2003ko urriaren 3a ) estatubatuar haur literaturako marrazkilari, ilustratzaile eta idazlea izan zen.

1930ean ilustrazioak egiten hasi zen The New Yorker aldizkarirako eta 130 azal marraztu zituen. 61 urterekin haurrentzako liburuak idazten hasi zen, eta 1968an.
