Leppavirta is a municipality in Northern Savonia , Finland . It had almost 10,170 living there in January 2014. The municipalities next to it are Heinavesi , Joroinen , Kuopio , Pieksamaki , Suonenjoki , Tuusniemi and Varkaus .
