Datuk Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim ( Jawi : ?????? ?? ???????; born 10 August 1947) is a Malaysian politician. He is the 10th and current Prime Minister of Malaysia since 24 November 2022. Before becoming Prime Minister, he was the Leader of the Opposition from 2020 to 2022. He was the Opposition Leader before between 2008 and 2015. [3] He is a founder and leading figure of the People's Justice Party (Parti Keadilan Rakyat).

Ibrahim was expected to become Malaysia's Prime Minister in "one to two years" when Mahathir Mohamad said he would resign in that time frame and hand the role to Ibrahim. [4] [5] However, when Mohamad resigned in 2020, Ibrahim did not replace him.

Anwar was born on 10 August 1947 in Bukit Mertajam . He studied at University of Malaya and at National University of Malaysia . In 1980, he married Wan Azizah Wan Ismail , who became Deputy Prime Minister in 2018. They have six children.
