Rogatica

) is a town and municipality in
Republika Srpska
,
Bosnia and Herzegovina
. As of 2013, it has a population of 10,723 inhabitants, while the town of Rogatica has a population of 6,855 inhabitants.
Geography

The town lies on the river
Rakitnica
, on the magistral road between
Podromanija
and
Ustipra?a
, roughly 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of
Vi?egrad
and 45 km (28 mi) east of
Sarajevo
.
History

From October 1941 until January 1942, Serbian
Chetniks
killed around 2,000 Muslim civilians from the Rogatica district.
