Biography
Randall James Hamilton Zwinge was born on 07 Aug 1928 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and his parents were Marie Alice (Paradis) and George Randall Zwinge.
He was a Canadian-American stage magician
known as "The Amazing Randi".
He held the Guinness World Record for time spent in a sealed casket underwater. He spent an hour and 44 minutes in the casket, breaking Harry Houdini's record of one hour and 33 minutes. He also held the record for being encased in a block of ice.
James Randi became a well known scientific skeptic who challenged paranormal and pseudoscientific claims. He founded the James Randi Educational Foundation and was the co-founder of Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.
He died on 20 Oct 2020 in Plantation, Broward County, Florida, USA.
