The Arizona Diamondbacks have had their share of doubters during their unlikely, improbable and impressive postseason run.

But it is coming to an end against the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 7 of the NLCS on Tuesday night, according to one sports talk host, who said he would retire if the Diamondbacks somehow advanced to the World Series.

The host, Chris "Mad Dog" Russo, said on Mad Dog Radio before Arizona's Game 6 win over the Phillies on Monday :

“To make a long story short, I’ve been wrong on Arizona from Day 1," he said. "I’m stunned they beat Milwaukee, I thought they’d be swept by the Dodgers, I never thought they’d even go back to Philly for a Game 6. I’ll try it one more time: I would not be stunned if they won tonight (Monday's Game 6), I’d be floored.”

Well, Russo must be floored, because the Diamondbacks beat the Phillies on Monday night, 5-1 to force a deciding Game 7 of the NLCS.

All things D'backs: Latest Arizona Diamondbacks news, schedule, roster, stats, injury updates and more.

But Russo wasn't done.

"I’ll say this right now …? write it down," Russo said. “If they win the next two days, they win the next two games and win this series in seven games, if they win, I will retire on the spot."

Chris Russo doesn't think the Diamondbacks have a chance against Phillies in Game 7 of the NLCS on Tuesday night.

Social media had fun with Mad Dog Russo's retirement declaration:
