Donald Trump and his allies have been ridiculed for filming a cringe-worthy campaign advert in a New York courthouse.

The "really embarrassing" video, which has been slammed by social media users, features Donald Trump, Eric Trump , Lara Trump, and two Republican members of the House from Florida, Bryon Donalds and Cory Mills, making a desperate plea for funds. Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also appears in the video.

In the video, each member of the group takes turns urging viewers to "stand with" Trump during his Stormy Daniels hush money trial . Three of them are dressed in Trump's classic white shirt and red tie - with Eric and Lara failing to get the dress memo.

The former president is then seen walking behind them, along with his lawyer, and then gives a cringe thumbs-up to the desperate video. Many users were less than impressed with the video as one person wrote "My God, this is embarrassing".

"This is real. This isn't a parody. Somehow, this is real," said another. While others said they were "not surprised they filmed a fundraising at the courthouse."

Their plea for funds comes as President Joe Biden and Donald Trump on Wednesday agreed to hold two campaign debates setting the stage for their first presidential face-off to play out in just over a month. The first will be on June 27 hosted by CNN and the second on September 10 hosted by ABC.

The swift consensus on the debate schedule comes right after the Democrat announced his refusal to engage in autumn presidential debates hosted by the impartial commission, an organization that's been managing them for over 30 years. Instead, Biden's team suggested that media bodies arrange the face-offs between the presumptive Democratic and Republican candidates themselves.

Biden and Trump have planned their debate so early in the political calendar that neither has officially accepted his party's nomination yet. Later that day, Biden revealed he'd accepted an invite from CNN, encouraging Trump with the words: "Over to you, Donald."

"Let's get ready to Rumble! ! ! " exclaimed Trump on Truth Social, who had previously said he was willing to debate Biden anywhere and anytime. Not long after, they agreed to a second discussion on ABC.

Biden took a light-hearted dig at Trump on Twitter, saying: "Trump says he'll arrange his own transportation," and added: "I'll bring my plane, too. I plan on keeping it for another four years."

The rapidity of how these debates were organized reflects each candidate's confidence in outdoing his rival during a live confrontation. While Trump and his squad are assured that the debates will enhance voters' worries about Biden's age and capabilities, Biden's team is hopeful that Trump's often controversial statements will remind voters why they dismissed him from the White House four years ago.
