They posted the sweet tribute alongside a black-and-white photo of the band's early lineup. In addition to Colin as the bassist, this included Pat Monahan on lead vocals, Jimmy Stafford on lead guitar, Rob Hotchkiss on rhythm guitar, and Scott Underwood on drums. In the photo, the group posed with smiles while wearing matching t-shirts.
Colin was not active in the band at the time of his passing. He reportedly was asked to leave after facing substance abuse problems in 2003.
Last year, Colin said during an appearance on Delphine's Circle: "There was a lot of things that led to me leaving, but it really escalated into it. We never took a break. We drove our tour bus into the parking lot of the recording studio for our second and third record. In Philadelphia, we made our one-and-a-half record."
He added: "We just never stopped. It’s kind of one of those things where you feel like this is too good to be true. Most bands have a lifespan of a few years."
They gave a shoutout to his immense talent

Pat previously said that band called a vote after Colin was "a mess" during the gig. The decision came down to booting Colin or Pat stepping away from the band which, at the time, was climbing their way to surefire success following their 2001 release of Drops of Jupiter.
Despite their differences and band struggles, Train still sent their love to Colin. The comments were full of fans and friends sending their well-wishes, too. Andrew McMahon of Something Corporate wrote: "He was such a wonderful man and so kind to me and my bandmates. Sending love."
Jayce Fincher of Marvelous 3 commented: "I enjoyed him. Lots of laughs on our tour back in the beginnings. I ran into him a few years back in Santa Monica and immediately started laughing, joking, and telling stories like there had been no time loss. I’m so sad to hear the news."
