SuperM has made a successful debut on the Billboard 200!
On October 13 (local time), Billboard announced that SuperM’s debut album “SuperM – The 1st Mini Album” is No. 1?on the Billboard 200 for the week of October 19. This?makes it the highest-charting debut album by any K-pop group.?The Billboard?website?will be updated with this week’s chart on October 15.
During the first week?of its release (October 4), the album sold 168,000 album-equivalent units in the United States, of which 164,000 were physical album sales.
Upon hearing the news, SuperM commented, “We’re very happy that we topped the Billboard 200, and it feels like a dream. We’re glad that we achieved a result we can be proud of through this new endeavor, and we thank everyone who supported us. We will work hard to continue showing a ‘super synergy.'”
Baekhyun tweeted a screenshot of the Billboard article saying, “SuperM has placed No. 1 on the Billboard 200! Thank you so, so much! I’m so happy that even though it’s only Monday,?I mean, these days, there’s so much good news!”
He also posted on his Instagram account in English.

SuperM is a boy group consisting?of SHINee’s Taemin,?EXO’s Baekhyun and?Kai,?NCT 127’s Taeyong and Mark, and WayV’s Lucas and Ten. Mainly targeting the?U.S. market, SuperM made an explosive debut with their title track “
Jopping
.” The group is preparing to embark on their North American tour “
We Are The Future: Live
” in November.
