Australia's Shane Warne today became the second bowler in history to claim 1000 wickets in international cricket, on day two of the fifth Test against England at the SCG.
Warne took the milestone wicket when he had England tailender Monty Panesar out LBW.
Warne, who is retiring after this Test, has taken 707 Test wickets and 293 one-day international scalps.
Teammate Glenn McGrath, who is also retiring from Test cricket, took his 900th international wicket yesterday, and now has 902 top-level dismissals (560 in Tests, 342 in one-dayers).
Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan heads the list of international victims with 1,104.
