The?Vincennes?University?Center for Applied Robotics and Automation has deployed a fleet of collaborative robots, or cobots, into eight early college career centers around the state in hopes of introducing more Industry 4.0 technology to students.
A Lilly Endowment Inc. grant and partnership with Telamon Robotics made the outreach possible. The university said it will prepare students for manufacturing technology and workforce demands.
“Empowering the next generation with Industry 4.0 technologies is not just a choice. It is a necessity,” CARA Director Kimberly Wright said in a news release. “By embracing these technologies, we are bridging the gap between education and industry and cultivating a workforce that thrives in the high-tech era, ensuring a brighter and more competitive Indiana.”
The centers receiving the cobots are:

- Heartland Career Center in Wabash
- Elkhart Career Center
- Hinds Career Center in Elwood
