Some fans, though, were confused about the actual date of the release, wondering whether the project is coming March 12 or in December. “WE GOTTA WAIT TILL DECEMBER 3RD?????” one Blink
tweeted in response
to the announcement.
One of the initial preview images had a few words in English embedded into its
hazy image
, in which the singer — in a flowing red dress — walks against a smoke-filled background. Just barely visible through the smoke under the K-pop icon’s name in huge letters are the words “No Way Out” and “You Are Now…”
The singer gave a sneak preview of the solo effort during January’s livestream concert,
The Show
, during which she performed the track “Gone.” A recent teaser trailer for the “Gone” video featured the 25-year-old artist lying on the floor of a bathroom, and also staring blankly into the distance as she sat at a dinner table set for one.
The Show
acted as a spotlight for the group’s hits such as “Hod You Like That,” “Sour Candy,” “Kill This Love” and “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.” But it was also a chance for the quartet — Rosé, Lisa, Jisoo and Jennie — to show their personalities, as when Jennie revamped her “Solo” single and Rosé
busted out a clip
from the “Gone” video, as well as a live snippet of the song that appeared to be sung fully in English.
The group was recently named
goodwill ambassadors
for the upcoming 26th Climate Change Conference, which will take place from Nov. 1-12 in Glasgow, Scotland. According to the
Korea Herald
, the quartet was appointed as advocates to raise awareness for the global campaign against climate change and recently received a personal letter from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, in which he invited them to the conference.
