Karakai J?zu no Takagi-san
(Takagi-san, the Master of Teasing) manga
opened
on Friday to reveal the show's January 2018 premiere. The site is also streaming the show's first promotional video.
In the above video, Nishikata swears he'll finally tease Takagi today, but she ends up teasing him instead by having him make a face that gets him in trouble with the teacher. As Nishikata sulks about being teased instead again, Takagi keeps trying to get his attention. Nishikata doesn't want to get yelled at again, so he refuses to look her way. When he does eventually turn to face her, she says "finally, you looked at me."
The site also revealed the show's staff and cast.
Y?ki Kaji
stars in the show as Nishikata, and
Rie Takahashi
co-stars as Takagi-san.

The manga
centers
on Nishikata, a middle school student who has suffered humiliation due to being teased by Takagi, the girl who sits next to him. Since then, he has vowed to one day do the same to her and succeed in teasing her.
Yamamoto launched the manga in
Gessan
mini
, the accompanying booklet to the main
Gessan
magazine, in 2013. After Yamamoto finished serializing his
Fudatsuki no Ky?ko-chan
manga in
Gessan
in June 2016,
Karakai J?zu no Takagi-san
moved to
Gessan
in July.
Shogakukan
published the manga's sixth volume on August 10.
The manga
topped
a poll by Honya Club on bookstore employees' recommended manga for 2017 in February, and it was also
nominated
for this year's Manga Taisho award.
