Emilie Conway
We were delighted to welcome a past pupil and renowned jazz vocalist, lyricist and artist Emilie Conway to our tionóil this week.
St. Colmcille's Day 2019
Our celebration of St. Colmcille's Day was once again a roaring success. From the design and make exhibition with the theme of 'Our Planet - Our Future', to the Pilgrimage, the races and the St. Colmcille Drama performed by Ms. Walsh's class - the entire school community got on board to pay tribute to the patron saint of our school and parish. Check out the video below for just a snapshot of some of the events that took place.
World Book Day
Books are deadly! Everyone agrees. There are books for everyone - some people like fiction, some people like fantasy and some people like facts. We all have favourite spots where we like nothing better than to curl up with a good book - mine is on a bean bag beside the radiator with a cup of tea and a biscuit! The pupils of Room 12 have have shared their favourite place to read below. Where is your favourite place to read?
Coirm Gael Linn 2019
To kick off Seachtain na Gaeilge 2019, Seomra 12 and the Grúpa Ceoil took to the stage in Clasac, Clontarf for the Corim Gael Linn festival - an Irish drama festival where the drámaí are performed entirely through Irish. Labhair na páistí Gaeilge an t-am ar fad nuair a bhí siad ann. The festival is a unique opportunity for the children to try out and use the Gaeilge that they know in a non-competitive and fun setting. Ghlac cúig scoil páirt ar an lá agus bhí Giggles, an fear grinn ann le siamsaíocht idir na drámaí. There were five shows on the day and Giggles the Clown entertained the children between the shows. Our dráma was called 'An Príomhoide Nua'. Our pupils performed exceptionally and came away with two 'Gradam' or awards for their use of Irish and their lovely singing and music on stage.
Maith sibh go léir a pháistí!
