Sooyoung cast in drama about the disabled

Apr 12,2016

Sooyoung, a member of K-pop group Girls’ Generation, has been cast in the drama “Perfect Sense,” broadcaster KBS announced on Monday.

“Perfect Sense” is the eighth annual one-episode drama planned by the Ministry of Education and a local nonprofit organization for disabled people. The joint project started in 2008.

“Perfect Sense” revolves around Eun-seo (Jeong Chan-bi), a young girl who is slowly losing her sight and overcoming her physical limitation after meeting Ah-yeon (Sooyoung), a blind English teacher, and a guide dog.

Actress Jeong Seon-kyeong will reportedly play Eun-seo’s mother, and Kang Kyun-sung, a member of the boy group Noel, will star as the dog trainer.

Everyone in the cast, including Sooyoung, are unpaid and donating their time for the project.

The Girls’ Generation star has been building her acting career, playing the lead role in many dramas, most notably in “My Spring Days” (2014).

“Perfect Sense” will air on KBS on April 20, which is Disability Day in Korea.
