) magazine is revealing on Friday that
Soichiro Yamamoto
's
Ashita wa Doy?bi
(Tomorrow is Saturday) manga is getting an anime adaptation that will air "within" the upcoming television anime
adaptation
of Yamamoto's
Karakai J?zu no Takagi-san
(Takagi-san, the Master of Teasing) manga in January. The two manga share the same story setting. The magazine also reveals more cast for both anime:
Yuuki Kaji
stars in
Karakai J?zu no Takagi-san
as Nishikata, and
Rie Takahashi
co-stars as Takagi-san.
Ashita wa Doy?bi
centers
on the everyday lives of three junior high school girls: the energetic Mina, the serious Yukari, and the cool Sanae. The manga ran in the
Yomiuri Ch?k?sei Shimbun
for a year starting in 2014.
Shogakukan
published two compiled book volumes for the manga.

The
Karakai J?zu no Takagi-san
manga
centers
on Nishikata, a middle school student who has suffered humiliation due to being teased by Takagi, the girl who sits next to him. Since then, he has vowed to one day do the same to her and succeed in teasing her.
Yamamoto launched the
Karakai J?zu no Takagi-san
manga in
Gessan
mini
, the accompanying booklet to the main
Gessan
magazine, in 2013. After Yamamoto finished serializing his
Fudatsuki no Ky?ko-chan
manga in
Gessan
in June 2016,
Karakai J?zu no Takagi-san
moved to
Gessan
in July.
Shogakukan
published the manga's sixth volume on August 10.
The manga
topped
a poll by Honya Club on bookstore employees' recommended manga for 2017 in February, and it was also
nominated
for this year's Manga Taisho award.
