Police were searching Wednesday for a group of brutes who assaulted two gay men in a hateful attack in Chelsea.

Wednesday’s assault took place two months after a spate of anti-gay attacks rocked Manhattan ? a spree of violence that peaked with the May 17 shooting death of Mark Carson on W. Eighth St. in Greenwich Village.
