It’s a move that has taken some time to complete, given Espanyol have been interested in Felipe Caicedo for some considerable time, but on Tuesday, the club officially announced his capture.
25-year-old Caidedo joins Espanyol on a two-year contract during the afternoon with club president, Joan Collet, having secured his release on a free transfer from Qatari club, Al-Jazira.
Having previously had spells in La Liga with both Levante and Malaga, the Equador international, who competed at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, will spend the night in Barcelona before linking up with his new team-mates, at their pre-season training base in Garos.
