Sandeep Marwah Wins Asian Unity Day Award

One of the most prestigious international awards for bringing unity to the Asian countries, Asian Unity Award, was presented to the renowned media personality Sandeep Marwah, here at Noida in a grand function in the presence of an august gathering of diplomats, media persons, politicians and a group of creative people from many countries on 2nd April, which has been declared as Asian Unity Day.

"Strength lies in unity and prosperity increases manifolds. There is a European Union, which has changed the face of Europe. If we are able to create an Asian Union, it will change the face of Asia in all fields: economic, social, strategic and finally in the political arena also" said Dr. Beni Prasad Agarwal, Chairperson of AAU and APC.

The Association announced and handed over the Asian Unity Award to Sandeep Marwah for his untiring efforts and huge contribution towards Asian unity. Marwah has recently been announced as Global Cultural Minister and Global Peace Ambassador during the Global Cultural Summit and Global Peace Summit respectively.

Sandeep Marwah has been chairing 60 national and international level organizations and has spread the message of love, peace and unity through these organizations to all the countries of Asia from the last twenty-five years.

Association for Asian Union and Asia Pacific Cooperation, an organization to bring in cordial relations between 50 countries of Asia, was formed fifteen years back by a group of like-minded people comprising of former Prime Ministers, Governors, Diplomats, Politicians and people from different strata of life; including former Prime Minister of Japan Yoshiro Mori, former Lt. Governor of Delhi Tejendra Khanna, former Cabinet Secretary Naresh Chandra, former Chief Justice of India M.N. Venkatachaliah and many other eminent persons.

The award function was followed by a seminar on 'Positive element in religion can lead to peace and harmony in society', Dr. Mohammed Haneef Khan Shastri (3 Times President Awardee) emphasized on peace and harmony among people of a country as a tool for development. During his speech he recited the verses of Qoran, Vedas and Geeta which lay stress on a cohesive society based on peace, justice and humanity.
