10 July 2014 Last updated at 11:30 BST

Theresa May has become the longest-serving Home Secretary for more than 50 years, since Rab Butler held the post between 1957 and 1962.

The BBC's Danny Shaw looks at how she has managed to retain her position, despite questions being raised over her appointment in May 2010.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Thursday 10 July.
