  • I have not received the email with the CONFIRMATION CODE to create my password.
    • When you subscribe to the Digital Edition or upgrade your print subscription to include the Digital Edition, you will receive a welcome email with a CONFIRMATION CODE if you did not create an account password.
    • Make sure you are using the email address used at registration.
    • Check your Spam mail folder for the Welcome Confirmation Code email. For Gmail users, see below.
    • If the Welcome email is found in your Spam folder, add the "from" address to your address book.
    • If you still cannot find the email, reset your password by following the "Forgot Password" process:
    • Tap on the magazine app and go to the Library page to sign in.
    • Tap on "Sign In."
    • Tap "Forgot Password."
    • Enter your email address twice in the page that appears and tap "SUBMIT."
    • An email with a Confirmation Code and link to the Reset Password page will be sent to your email address. (Make sure that you type the information correctly because the "auto-correct" feature of many tablet devices can change your entry while typing.)
    • Go to your email account to find the Forgot Password email. If using Gmail, please see below under Gmail users.
    • Tap the Create Password link and follow the instructions on the page where you will be asked to enter the Confirmation Code (if it doesn’t automatically populate) and create a new password.

      If you still cannot receive or locate the email, contact Customer Service at 866-784-9817 to obtain the CONFIRMATION CODE.

      Gmail users:
      If you are using a Gmail account and did not receive the Welcome email, check your Spam folder. To see your Spam folder, you may have to click the "MORE" button. This will expand to show more folders. You can then open up the Spam folder from here.
  • I forgot my Digital Edition password. What can I do?

    • To manage your Apple app Store subscription, access the Settings app on your iPad, and select "iTunes & App Store". Tap on your Apple ID and confirm that you wish to view your Apple ID. Scroll down to "Subscriptions", and tap on "Manage".
  • How do I cancel the digital subscription I purchased through the Apple App Store?
    • Access the settings app on your iPad, and select " iTunes & App Store" Tap on your Apple ID and confirm that you wish to view your Apple ID. Scroll down to "Subscriptions," and tap on "Manage." From here, you can disable auto-renewal, which ends your subscription.
  • I am having an Apple App Store billing problem. Can I send you my Apple App Store account information to get it resolved?
    • No. Apple does not share any billing or customer information with us, and all charges to your account are managed solely by Apple. Unfortunately we do not have the ability to look at your purchase history or credit your account. Feel free to contact customer service if you are having a problem downloading an issue.
  • I am subscriber to the U.S. Edition living abroad. Why do I no longer have access to new issues of the U.S. Edition on my iPad?
    • Regional Editions of TIME are now available on the iPad ? Europe, Asia and South Pacific. To continue enjoying TIME on your iPad, please download the TIME application from the app Store. It will be specific to your region and tied to the billing address used in your Apple account.
Troubleshooting
  • How do I setup my existing subscription on my iPad ?
    • 1. Click here to establish your digital edition account. If you've already set up your digital edition account, proceed to step two.
    • 2. Download and install the TIME iPad app from the App Store.
    • 3. The app will download to Newsstand, which is its own icon on the iPad desktop. Tap the Newsstand icon and the TIME app icon will be on
           the Newsstand shelf.
    • 4. Tap the "Sign In" button on the upper left corner of the screen.
    • 5. Enter your email address and the password you set up. Forgot your password? Click here.
    • 6. Tap "Library" to view and download available issues.
  • I recently updated my app and cannot sign in.
    • If you subscribed via iTunes you do not have to sign in. You will have to restore your subscription with your Apple ID. In the Library, tap the gear on the upper right corner, select "Restore All Purchases," tap "Restore," and then enter your Apple ID password.
  • I downloaded the app but cannot locate it on my iPad's desktop.
    • The TIME App downloads to Newsstand, which has its own icon on the iPad desktop. Tap the Newsstand icon and find the TIME App in the Newsstand shelf. The TIME App requires iOS5 or higher.
  • Issues that I purchased within the app are missing.
    • If you have a TIME digital edition account, you will have to sign into your account. Tap the "Sign In" button on the upper left corner and enter your email address and password.
    • If you subscribed via iTunes, you will have to restore your subscription with your Apple ID. In the Library, tap the gear on the upper right corner, select "Restore All Purchases," tap "Restore," and then enter your Apple ID password.
  • I have signed into the app, but the app says "buy" instead of "download" issues.

  • My digital edition issue is not downloading.
    • Since the average TIME digital edition is 400 MB, it can take over 20 minutes to download, depending on your Wi-Fi internet connection. We recommend that you do not use a 3G connection. For best results, please disable your iPad's Auto Lock function while downloading your issue. If your iPad goes to sleep during a download, it will not resume the download until it is no longer sleeping. A constant and strong Internet Connection is best. If your internet connection is lost, the download will need to start over.
  • How do I delete an issue?
    • In the Library, tap the gear button in the upper right-hand corner, then tap "Remove Issues from iPad." Choose the issues you would like to delete and tap "Remove."
    • If you are a subscriber, the cover image of your deleted issue will still appear in the library. If you would like to re-read your issue, simply tap the download button that appears under the cover.
    • If you purchased a single-copy issue, your deleted issue will no longer appear in your library. You can re-download any issues that you have deleted from your Library at no additional charge. In order to re-download a previously purchased issue, return to the store, find the issue you would like to re-download, and tap the 'Buy' button. You will be prompted to confirm your purchase and then immediately prompted to download again for free.
  • Will deleting an issue free up storage space on my iPad ?
    • Yes. You can also access your issue again at any time by re-downloading it, free of charge.
  • How do I re-download an issue that was deleted?
    • In order to re-download a previously deleted issue, go to the Library and tap the download button that appears on the cover.
    • If you purchased a single copy, the deleted issue will no longer appear in your library. To re-download a previously purchased issue, return to the store, find the issue you would like to re-download and tap the buy button. You will be prompted to confirm your purchase and then immediately prompted to download again for free.
  • Why is it taking so long to sync or back up my iPad?
    • Each digital issue is large and can add noticeable time to your iPad's syncing or backing up . To avoid this problem, you can delete some issues prior to backing up. In the Library, tap the gear button in the upper right-hand corner, then tap "Remove Issues from iPad." Choose the issues you would like to delete and tap "Remove."
  • I recently purchased a new iPad. Are my issues still available to me?
    • Yes. If you have a TIME digital edition account, you will have to sign in. Tap the "Sign In" button on the upper left corner and enter your email address and password.

    • Because TIME.com generally does not own the copyright to any of the photographs on our site, we cannot grant you permission to use the photographs for anything other than viewing them on TIME.com as they were originally published.   • Why aren't TIME.com videos working on my web browser or smartphone?
    • If a TIME.com video isn't working in your web browser, first make sure your browswer is up-to-date by downloading the latest version. We also suggest you download the latest version of the Flash plug-in. You can also try to clear your cache (found in the "history" or "preferences" section of a lot of browsers), as you may be viewing an area of the site that has since been updated, but your browser is showing you an older version. TIME videos are coded so that they should work on all devices, including your iPhone or iPad.
