How to login

Login for APS Members

Some sections of the website are only available to APS Members. When you access a member only section you will be prompted to login. Your login is your six-digit membership number (User ID) and password.

You can login from any page on the website by clicking the 'Login' button at the top right of the website.

Login for non-APS Members

Some secure areas of the website are available to non-APS members (such as access to APS eLearning). When you access a secure area you will be prompted to login. Your login is your six-digit User ID and password.

You can login from any page on the website by clicking the 'Login' button at the top right of the website.

About your APS membership number

This is your six-digit APS membership number. Every number begins with a 0, 1 or 2. If you have been issued with a five-digit number, you have to add a 0 at the front. Please contact the APS National Office if you have any queries regarding this.

About your password

Unless you have changed it, your password will automatically be your surname.

Please note: the password is case sensitive:

  • e.g. Smith has a capital 'S', not smith.
  • If you have a hyphenated surname such as Smith-Milano, and you have not changed your password, then both the 'S' and the 'M' have to be capitals, and the hyphen [-] also has to be included.
  • If you have a space in you surname, such as 'Da Costa', then the space also needs to be included as part of the password.

Change your password

APS recommends that you change your password, to do this:

  1. Follow the prompts

Forgotten your password?

  • Unless you have changed it, your password will automatically be your surname.
  • To retrieve your password, go to the password reminder service , that sends your password to the email address we have on file.
  • If you do not receive an email, it is because the APS does not have your current email address. Please contact us to request your password.

Are you having login problems?

If you see the error message " Invalid member number or password. Please try again or see the Help page. " check the following:

  • Are you using a six digit number for the User ID? If your membership number is only five digits, add a zero at the start
  • Your password is, by default, your surname (which is case sensitive). You can change your password once you are logged in
  • Have you accidentally entered the incorrect details, and now the login form will not accept your correct details? If so, you will need to clear out your 'temporary internet files' before you can log in.
To clear 'temporary internet files' do this:
  1. In Internet Explorer v7 on a PC, go to the top menu bar and select: Tools> Internet Options> General> Browsing History - Temporary files
  2. Next, click on 'Delete' then under Temporary Internet Files click 'Delete Files'. A box will pop up asking you to confirm that you want to delete the files. Click 'Yes'. Depending on how many files are to be deleted, this may take a few minutes..
  3. Close that browser window, re-open your browser and try logging in again.

If you still can't login try the following:

  • Check that your Privacy settings are set at 'Medium high' (this means that cookies are enabled, which is required for member login), to do this:

    1. In Internet Explorer v7 on a PC go to the top menu bar and select: Tools> Internet Options then pick the 'Privacy' tab
    2. Check that the level is 'medium high'
    3. Close that browser window, re-open your browser and try logging in again.
