New York Times bestseller to join
Fairy Tail
in Kodansha’s acceleration program
NEW YORK, July 6, 2013 ? Kodansha Comics is pleased to announce that Hajime Isayama’s wildly popular post-apocalyptic manga,
Attack on Titan
, will move to monthly releases starting in August of this year.
Kodansha started publishing
Attack on Titan
in Japan in 2010, where it quickly grew to become of the company’s hottest new manga in years. The highly-anticipated English version debuted in 2012 from Kodansha Comics, where it immediately hit the bestseller charts. In April 2013, the anime for the series made its debut simultaneously in Japan and in the U.S., and now demand for the series is through the roof. To meet this demand, Kodansha Comics will release a new volume of
Attack on Titan
every month for the rest of the year, starting in August. The title will release simultaneously in print and digital formats across all major platforms currently supporting manga.
Attack on Titan
joins
Fairy Tail
, which is currently also releasing on an accelerated basis.
Fairy Tail
, however, is currently seeing
two
volumes release digitally every month, while the print version stays on a monthly schedule.
