Crimean authorities expect final results of referendum to be announced overnight into March 17

The final results of the referendum on the status of Crimea can be announced overnight into March 17, Crimean First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Temirgaliyev told Interfax.

"I think that the final results will be at night already, as soon as protocols with 'wet' stamps come," Temirgaliyev said. The procedure of delivering documents with the referendum results from polling stations to the Crimean capital is as follows - "first, protocols with 'wet' stamps should come from district to territorial election committees, which in their turn are to send the results to Simferopol via an electronic system and then protocols with 'wet' stamps should arrive in Simferopol," Temirgaliyev said.

The Crimean authorities have prepared reserve power source for polling stations and election committees in case power supply disruptions occur, Temirgaliyev said.
