If you’re looking for more information about submitting for the JUNO Awards we recommend reading the article “ The Many Reasons Why You Should Submit Your Music For The JUNO Awards .”

Toronto, ON Originally posted Oct. 5, 2013 – The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced that the 2014 JUNO Awards is now accepting submissions in the category of Rap Recording of the Year . The 2014 festivities will be hosted in Winnipeg, MB, with JUNO Week running from March 24 – March 30. The 43rd Annual JUNO Awards will be broadcast on CTV on Sunday, March 30, 2014.

Collectively, the Rap Advisory Committee continues to make strides in developing outreach to rap artists across the country, both English and Francophone, to increase the number of submissions in this category. As a result of these concentrated efforts, the number of submissions received by CARAS in the category of Rap Recording of the Year has been steadily rising since the category was established in 1990. By partnering with radio shows, online magazines and DJs across the country, the committee hopes to continue to raise awareness throughout the community about the submissions and judging process, specifically for rap artists.

As the founder of artist career development company Krafty Entertainment, and a founding partner of music publishing company Battle Axe Music, Kyle has also been involved in running a successful independent record label and in the booking and promotion of over 1,000 concerts. He currently focuses primarily on guiding artists’ careers, while lending his expertise to several initiatives supporting artists and the musical community. His predecessor, David “Click” Cox (Stylus Awards), will remain on the committee as a contributor. Other committee members include: Alan Greyeyes (Manitoba Music), Darryl Rodway (Urbnet), Dice B (CINQ 102.3FM), Don Smooth (K103FM), Greg Baptiste (Bell Media), Jay Swing (Donnelly Group/NationOfMillions.ca), Jesse Plunkett (HipHopCanada.com), Jody Laraya (Universal Music Canada), Marlon Wilson, (Music for Mavericks/Politic Live), Melissa “DJ MelBoogie” Langley (DJ/Publicist), Rez (CityOnMyBack.com), and RS Smooth (DJ/Radio Host).
