Hong Kong-based consultancy MVA Asia Limited has submitted plans for Ho Chi Minh City’s second metro route.
The estimated US$1.25 billion rail route will run 11.2 km from Ben Thanh Market in the city center to the Tham Luong area in northwestern District 12.
MVA’s report contained financial plans as well as a proposed route.
The HCMC Urban Railway Management Board said it would raise enough money for the project by the end of next year and finish the project by 2015.
The first metro system in the city, which connects Ben Thanh Market with Long Binh Ward in District 9 to the northeast, is under construction and set for completion in 2013.
