The Galaxy S family has a new member. On 14 March in New York, the South Korean firm launched its latest flagship, Samsung Galaxy S4 , during a glamorous event at the Radio City Music Hall.
"For each of us, life is a journey. What you want is a device that can help us on the journey,” Samsung's CEO JK Shin said. “We will make life richer, simpler, and fuller.”

Among all its new features, Air Wave allows users to navigate through the device without touching it. The software uses a sensor on the front of the phone which lets the use of web browsers or accept calls just by waving a hand.
Samsung Galaxy S4 has more new features, like S Health and S Translate . S Health uses an accelerometer to track your steps and other fitness activity; and S Translate can translate voice to text.
Furthermore, Galaxy S4 includes technology from Mobeam , which can beam traditional 1D bar codes to enable payments, coupons and loyalty cards.
Samsung's smartphone will be out in the second quarter of this year in 155 countries at the major cellular carriers, including Verizon , AT&T , T-Mobile , and Sprint . However, the company didn't announce its price.
With its new handset, Samsung is putting even more pressure on Apple. Now the question is, will Steve Jobs' company reply with a new presentation?
