The global sports industry has experienced some extraordinary moments during 2009.

From Rio de Janeiro winning the rights to stage the 2016 Olympic Games to the quite remarkable story of Brawn GP in Formula One; from a series of world record soccer transfers and shirt deals to the Indian Premier League's last-minute switch to South Africa; SportsPro has covered all of them, both in the magazine and, for the first time, in our daily e-bulletin. The Daily Deal has been a huge success and, as the year ends, more of you than ever are using the newsletter to find out who is spending money in sport and on what.

So as 2009 ends we'd like to thank you for reading and we look forward to resuming our unrivalled service on Monday 4th January, bringing you every key sports industry deal, every day throughout 2010.

January will also see the publication of the next issue of SportsPro magazine, featuring an in-depth look at the Vancouver Olympic Games including a sport-by-sport commercial preview of the event and, looking ahead to future Winter Games, an exclusive interview with Sochi 2014 chief executive Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The issue also features interviews with Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber, US Soccer president Sunil Gulati and Miami Dolphins chief executive Mike Dee, plus a special focus on the commercial future of the World Rally Championship.

As well as the Vancouver Olympics, next year we also have the tantalising prospect of India's first Commonwealth Games; the inaugural Youth Olympics; the return of the America's Cup (hopefully); a new era for Formula One; the return of the Indian Premier League to its home country; plus, of course, Africa's first Fifa World Cup. Rest assured, we look forward to bringing you all the stories behind all the key events as the year progresses.
