Sweden:
Advocating human rights for musicians

Two seminars and concert in Stockholm became a beautiful, yet serious and powerful manifestation for musicians' human rights

Ferhat Tun? talked about his recent court cases and the situation for minorities in Turkey.

Chiwoniso spoke about the fear of many artists in Zimbabwe.

Matti Bye opened the concert with his ?Piece for piano and handcuffs?

Ferhat Tun? had many followers in the concert hall singing along his popular songs.

Mahsa Vahdat magnetised the audience with her solo performance.

The concert hall was packed.

Freemuse Executive Director, Marie Korpe, motivated this years? Freemuse Award.


On behalf of Pete Seeger his grandson, Tao Rodriquez-Seeger, received the Freemuse Award and performed a couple of Pete Seegers songs. (Photo by Freemuse) (Click on photo to see video)

The Stockholm Concert Hall offered a beautiful framework for the Music Freedom Day events.

In high spirit and in a warm, human atmosphere, the "Music Freedom Day Allstars" ended the evening with an improvised Song to Freedom.
