Buying their second radio station this week, Toronto-based Rogers Broadcasting has purchased Edmonton, Alberta’s CHBN-FM (91.7) “Bounce-FM” from CHUM Radio’s CTVglobemedia for an undisclosed price, pending CRTC approval. The move expands Rogers presence in Alberta province, where it operates 13 radio stations in Calgary, Canmore, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. Rogers Media CEO of Radio Paul Ski says, “The acquisition of BOUNCE will strengthen Rogers' position in this important young adult demographic.” Radio-Info reported on Tuesday that Rogers entered the London, Ontario market with the acquisition of “Bob FM” CHST-FM.
