    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Small, large array of 3rd party apps available, sturdy build, perfect fit for hand, nice protective cover.

Weaknesses: Slow, small, no keyboard, limited to addon's for ARM processors. Hardware failure.

Overall Evaluation: I got this for 130 when buy.com was trying to get rid of all of theirs. I bought it for the sole reason of having a little portable web browser. While the 770 is a bit slow and the browser does not support a few java script sites or youtube, it still is a very nice gadget. I think I got more than what I payed for the device and I am happy overall with my purchase. My personal favorite 3rd party apps (www.maemo.org)are as follows:VNC client: Nothing like controlling your main PC from anywhere in your house! Pidgin: The default messengering software is Google talk and it kind of sucks, so Pidgin is your alternative solution. It supports most of the IM networks out there today. Its a bit slow to type on the screen, but its super mobile :)Kismet: I have always wanted a tiny little computer to run kismet on. With a bit of work you can successfully install kismet on this device. It is not very stable and you will experiance quite a few crashes, but if you want a stable kismet go buy a beafy laptop. Now for the not so nice. My screen ended up dieing after a reboot one morning and never came back. Nokia however was very nice on the phone and I have shipped it off to be repaired. I had heard bad reviews about how long nokia takes to repair things, but I am a patient person. It should still be under the limited warranty. Despite this I still stand by the device as a sturdy product because my roomate ordered one the same day I did and his 770 has been working perfectly.

Strengths: I have one, bought my brother one. His had the "white screen of death" and nokia was being difficult in repairing it (he only had it a week). It's great for simple browsing, email, very portable.

Weaknesses: No flash past flash 6, so no youtube people. It's linux but it does lock up occaisionally. Mine works great. Don't make it into something it isn't (i.e. overhyped iPhone)or compare it to that device.

Overall Evaluation: This is WAy less that what I paid. 'bout a hundred bucks less last winter. I use it every other day or so. Good for the tinkerer, adventurous etc. not good for someone who needs rock stable reliability, or need for more high end multimedia effects. (get an OQO tablet or some such device, archos?)

    Strengths: NONE

Weaknesses: NO SUPPORT WHEN IT FAILS

Overall Evaluation: Don't waste your money no support and when I fails in 2 weeks your out of luck... Nokia is dumping these because of all the problems they know it is a piece of junk and just want then to go away..

    Duration of ownership: 1 Months

Strengths: Compact size, high resolution LCD, convenient web surfing

Weaknesses: Using RS-MMC, small fonts, unprotected power button

Overall Evaluation: I bought this Nokia 770 internet tablet when it was on sale. It is a great small product with which you can do a lot of things such as surfing web, watching videos, listening to music, text editing, etc. The LCD is small but has good resolution. Fonts are very clear, though a little small. Especially, you can even view pdf format professional papers with formulas and figures! The biggest disadvantage is that it uses reduced size MMC or MMC mobile, which are expensive and slow. Its later generation (800) uses two SD cards which are much better. Also the power button is unprotected. Thus sometimes if the power button is touched by chance, it's going to turn on without being noticed.

Strengths: Price, LCD size, WiFi, and did I mention price?

Weaknesses: Lack of support from Nokia, Hard to find rs-mmc (but mmc mobile also works),

Overall Evaluation: Bought this item about a week ago and so far, it's been fantastic. Even though you get no support from Nokia, there is an online forum that will answer just about any question/problem you may have. You can download contacts and calendar programs to use it as a PDA as well as a media player.
